The Consequences of Altering Fate (2025):

Program Notes: "Originally titled "Interweaving Fates", this piece was inspired by several stories and legends discussing the subject of fate, such as the red string that binds soulmates together and the curse of the monkey's paw. While I had already composed most of the piece with the idea of expressing how people come and go in one's life, I decided to change my approach and instead delve deeper into the horror story "The Monkey's Paw" by W.W. Jacobs, which warns the reader of the conseuqences of altering fate for one's own greed. This piece, in turn, holds several different interpretations, which is similar to the story by Jacobs where the reader is left unsure if what had taken place was some form of magic, or just a strange set of coincidences."
