Junebug (2026):

Instrumentation: Tenor Voice and piano

Duration: 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

Program Notes: Based on the poem by Alex Staten, Junebug is a song for tenor voice and piano accompaniment. It reflects on humanities place in the vast universe, and how small we are, just like how a junebug or a beetle feels to us. But those bugs don't share the same worries as we do, and even with their short lives they still continue on trying their best to survive; to "carry on living beetle things."
